It is usually safe to swim right throughout pregnancy till your baby’s birth. You should not over exert yourself .Choose a stroke that you enjoy and feel comfortable with. To get a good all round workout, you should alternate between swimming on your front and floating on your back, while gently kicking your legs.
Choose a swimming stroke other than breast stroke if you have problems with pain at the front of your pelvis as this may make the pain worse.
If you don’t feel well or experience any unusual pregnancy symptoms, stop the swimming sessions and talk to your doctor or midwife.
