This is what you should consider before childbirth .
- Make a list of the people who will get the birth announcement.
- Cook lots of food and freeze them.
- Look for child care and housekeeping help if you can afford and interview candidates in advance.
You should do these last minute preparation before your 9th month. Your checklist should include
- Name, address and phone number of the hospital.
- Name, address and phone number of the doctor or nurse midwife who will deliver the baby and the person who covers the practice when your doctor is unavailable.
- The quickest and easiest route to the hospital and birthing center.
- The phone number of the person who will take you to the hospital ( if they don’t live with you ).
- A bag packed with all the essentials you will need during labor and delivery and your stay at the hospital.
- A car seat for the car so that you can bring the baby home safely.
- If you have other children , arrange for care during the time you will be at the hospital.
