Foot odor in children
It is common for children to have foot odor . This is because children are very active and sweat a lot all over the body. The feet is usually covered up in socks and shoes. It therefore tends to ” breathe” the least causing it to sweat and smell bad.
It is important to keep your child’s feet as clean and dry as possible. When the child is done playing outside and is indoors, take the socks off so that the feet can air and dry off.
You may also have to wash her shoes. It can harbor odors, dirt, fungi or bacteria that contribute to the child’s stinky feet. You can wash most non leather shoes in the washer with a little bit of laundry detergent or baking soda to get rid of the smell. You can kill off any lingering odor with foot powder sprinkled into your child’s shoes.
