Pregnancy related problems
Most women experience healthy pregnancy. There may be minor discomforts during pregnancy but these are considered normal. However you have to know symptoms that may indicate that you have a serious problem.
Many minor problems can be managed at home. There many home remedies for the following :
You have to follow specific instructions given to you by the doctor if you have any problem during pregnancy .
While most problems during pregnancy are minor, you may also develop serious problems. These include the following :
Miscarriage : Symptoms include
- vaginal bleeding
- cramps
- tissue that passes through the vagina
Premature birth : Symptoms include :
- abnormal vaginal discharge or fluid leaking from the vagina
- belly, back or pelvic pain
- preterm labor which is contractions which occurs before 37 weeks of pregnancy
Changes in blood pressure : High blood pressure during pregnancy may indicate preeclampsia. It may be accompanied by symptoms such as :
- abnormal swelling in the face, hands or feet
- vision problems
- pain in the upper right belly
- nausea and vomiting
- a new or different headache
Infection : Infection during pregnancy may have the following symptoms :
- fever
- nausea or vomiting
- diarrhea
- urinary problems such as urinary tract infection or not being able to urinate
- open skin sores, blisters and itching
Depression : Talk to your doctor if you are sad, tearful, anxious or have big mood swings. Depression during pregnancy may make it hard for you to bond with your baby after delivery. It is therefore important to treat pregnancy associated depression so that you and your baby can bond.
During the days and weeks after childbirth, your body returns to its pre pregnancy state. However some problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes or hemorrhoids may continue after delivery. You will need to follow up with your doctor after childbirth.
