Being a new dad

Being  a new dad can be exciting and overwhelming at the same time.  Just like new moms, new dads may need to adjust their priorities.  Not all fathers have the opportunity of paternity leave  but those who do and take advantage of it find it rewarding.

Dads can strengthen their bond  with mom and the new baby by adjusting their priorities and helping out.

New dads should work as a team with the family to help with baby chores such as

  • feeding
  • diapering
  • soothing a crying baby
  • house chores

Taking care of a newborn can be overwhelming and by doing team work, you can relieve  each other for naps, exercises and “me time”.

As time goes on , this new life becomes a regular routine and will allow you more time for intimacy and social activities.

Time with the baby

Speeding enough time with your baby will make you feel emotionally attached to him. As a father , you can help out by playing to arouse and excite the baby while moms concentrate on the low-key stimulation such as gentle rocking, quiet interactive games, singing and other soothing activities . Your  baby will value both ways. It is important that you both  contribute in caring for the baby.
