Older siblings may become jealous of the new baby. However getting them to help with the new baby will not make them feel left out.  There are many small things  you can let older sibling do to let her  help with the new baby.

Some of the things older sibling can do include the following :

• fetch a diaper
• hand you a box of wipes
• entertain the baby by making funny faces
• read to the baby
• sing to the baby
• help you pick the baby’s outfit
• wipe the baby’s mouth when she spits
• hold a baby bottle
• hold baby on her lap with adult supervision

Sometimes the older sibling may not be interested in doing anything. It is always essential to ask the child before asking them to do something. You don’t have to make it a task. If she is not ready for baby duty , let her  know that you understand and appreciate her help.

You have to make  sure you dont give your little one more than she can handle. These may make her resent the baby. Let her help when she wants to . This will make it more enjoyable to her.
