It’s normal for toddlers to run around naked. It’s their way of assserting their independence. Its also their way of showing their opinions and abilities. This toddler behavior may also indicate that the child is ready for potty training.
This behavior can be disturbing to parents especially if they’re in public or have a guest. As much as this behavior is normal, it is important to start teaching your child that their body is private and they need to wear clothes when people are around.
Other ways to help your child cooperate with you is by doing the following :
- ask the child if he’d like to run around the room a couple of times before getting dressed or will like to get dressed right away
- when people are around, dress the child in clothing he cant easily take off
However you do not have to stress too much. This phase will pass. Don’t make a big deal about it. Scolding him will teach him to be ashamed of his body. Giggling will encourage him to continue with this behavior.
