Can sex induce labor  ?

There is no evidence that  sex can induce labor in full term pregnant moms. Over the  years , it has been suggested by some pregnant women, midwives and doctors that having sex near the end of pregnancy can induce labor. This is because of hormones present in semen and also that the contractions of orgasm stimulate the cervix.

However research has shown that women who have sex during the end of pregnancy may even go into labor days later than those who do not. This research doesnt mean that sex can delay labor. However it shows that there is probably no relation between sex and labor.

It is okay to have sex if your  pregnancy is uncomplicated right until your water breaks. However you should not expect it to induce labor.
