Oral sex and pregnancy
If you have a healthy and uncomplicated pregnancy, it is okay to have varied sex up until your water breaks . You can have oral sex during pregnancy however there are some precautions to consider.
Oral sex should be safe provided you or your partner dont have any sexually transmitted infections. It may even be a great alternative if your doctor has advised against vaginal sex due to cervical weakness or low lying placenta. There is however one potential risk .
It is important that during oral sex , your partner not blow air into your vagina. This can cause air bubble to block one of your blood vessels. This is known as air embolism. It can be fatal to both you and your unborn child. However this is extremely rare.
You may want to discuss the dos and dont with your partner before you engage in oral sex. It is important that he sticks to kissing and licking your clitoris and the lips around your vagina. Putting his tongue inside the vagina and breathing heavily can lead to accidental blowing air inside you.
It is safe to engage in oral sex during pregnancy. There is also no harm in swallowing sperms. If you have any concerns about oral sex , talk to your doctor.
