Water based lubricants during pregnancy
Yes, water based lubricants are safe to use during pregnancy. Your cervix is tightly closed and there is no risk of the lubricant reaching the baby. Most pregnant women may not even need the lubricant . This is because hormonal changes during pregnancy causes extra vaginal fluid and keep you pretty moist. However everyone is different and so this does not hold for every woman.
Water based lubricants are preferred because oil based lubricants can damage to condoms.
NOTE
You need to seek your doctor’s okay before having sex or using lubricants during pregnancy. Some pregnant women with complications may be asked to abstain from sex. Talk to your doctor about any concerns or any questions you may have .
