Urine is usually light yellow in color. However it becomes darker when it is concentrated . This is usually due to dehydration.
Not drinking enough water during pregnancy can result in this condition. During pregnancy, you need to drink more water than before. Even when you are drinking a lot, it may not be enough.
Severe morning sickness also known as Hyperemesis gravidarum can cause excessive vomiting and this can result in dehydration.
If you are drinking enough water and your urine is still dark, it could be the result of a medical condition. You need to notify your doctor.
Should i go to the doctor for dark urine during pregnancy ?
If you have dark urine , you need to drink more water than you are doing. If it doesnt get better, you may want to give your doctor a call.
You should also call your doctor if you have other symptoms such as painful urination and blood in urine. This could be a sign of urinary tract infection and if left untreated can cause complications.
