Biological clock : The older you get, the more difficult it becomes to get pregnant and the higher your risk for pregnancy complications. The best age to have a baby is in your early 20’s. As you get older, your ovaries age and the quality of your eggs gradually deteriorates. This is why young women are less likely to have chromosomal abnormalities.
Their risk for a miscarriage is also lower and it is physically easier for young women to carry pregnancy. This is because of their reduced risk of complications such as high blood pressure , diabetes and gynecological problems such as uterine fibroids.
Finally women in their 20s are less likely to have premature or low birth baby than women 35 years and older.
Financially prepared : You may be at the perfect reproductive age to have a baby but are you financially ready ? In the early 20s, most people are finding a career path and trying to get established. It may be difficult to have a baby while you are trying to establish yourself financially. Most people are established in their thirties. However if you wait until this age to have baby, you have to consider how you are going to juggle between being a mom and a career woman.
Are you emotionally ready ? : Being a mom is not just about having the baby. You have to be sure you are ready to for the stress as well the lifestyle changes that comes with being a parent. Waiting to have a baby in your forties may make it difficult to keep up with the demands of taking care of your child physically. Most people in their 20s are also not ready to be a parent. They may not be prepared for the sacrifice and patience that it requires.
