In the first few months of life, babies pick up on rhythm language rather than content. To keep the reading interesting, vary the pitch of your voice or use different voices for different characters.
Your baby will be fascinated about pictures with bright colors so plenty of board books and picture books will help.
Older baby
You can let your child help choose books. She probably has her favorites and would love it when you bring those out. Kids at this age will love books with colorful drawings and catchy phrases. Some like books with colors and others like books with built in activities.
Once your baby has explored her favorite book, try others.
