Staying active during pregnancy can help you and your baby stay healthy . It also helps you gain the right amount of weight. However you do not need to head over to the gym to stay active. You can make changes to your daily routine to help you stay active.
Healthy pregnant women need about 30 minutes of exercise a day. However you dont have to do it all at once. You can do a few minutes of activities throughout the whole day.
Tips to help you stay active during pregnancy
- take time to stretch your arms and legs while watching TV
- park further away from the store when you visit stores or go shopping
- plan outdoor activities during the weekends such as apple picking
- use the stairs instead of the elevator
- get up and walk to your co worker instead of calling or emailing
- set a timer on your phone to get up and stretch and walk around the house or office every hour
- use the long walk instead of a short cut when walking around the house or store
- walk while talking on the phone whether you are home or around the house
