Postpartum constipation is a normal thing to experience as your body recovers from pregnancy and childbirth. If you had prolonged labor without food, had bowel movement during labor or an enema, you may go a couple of days without any bowel movement because there simply isn’t anything in the intestines. If you had a c-section, it will take 3 or 4 days for your bowels to start functioning again.
