Exercise during pregnancy is essential for your health. Your health care provider will make you continue with your routing if you are involved in one or make you start a regimen if you are not active at all. Exercising during pregnancy is good for both you and your baby.
However too much exercise or exercises that are strenuous can be a risk. It is important to put safety and health first whether you are pregnant or not. There are some warning signs you should look out for which may indicate that you need to change your routine.
Exercise warning signs
Let your heart care provider know if you experience any of these after exercising :
- unusual pain
- vaginal bleeding
- light-headedness and dizziness
- uterine contractions
- muscle cramps
- unusual shortness of breath
- accelerated heartbeat
- chest pain
- leakage of fluid from the vagina
Stop exercising if you feel too hot, tired, cramped, light-headed or dizzy.
