High heels during pregnancy
Wearing high heels during pregnancy may not be a good idea especially during the latter stages. This is because during pregnancy, ligaments soften in preparation for child-birth. This puts you at risk of injuring your joints by over stretching them.
Wearing heels can alter your posture and can cause strain in your back and areas that have already been compromised by ranging hormones.
Increasing weight during pregnancy can put pressure on your knees. Weakening of areas such as knees, ankle and back makes it unstable for you to walk which increases your risk of falling or tripping. Wearing heels increases your risk of hurting yourself or falling.
If you decide to wear heels during pregnancy, consider wearing lower heels as the pregnancy progresses. It is better to place safety and comfort over fashion.
