What is ovulation ?
It is the release of one or more eggs from the ovaries. It usually occurs on the 14th day of your menstrual cycle even though the fertile window may range from day 12 to 17. This egg survives no more than 24 hours after it is released. The meeting of the egg and sperm must occur within this time for pregnancy to occur.
Time and symptoms of ovulation vary from one woman to another. Some women may not even experience symptoms of ovulation at all. Some women ovulate on the same day every month and others ovulate on different days of the month.
