Children love to play, and that doesn’t change just because they are at a birthday party. In fact, it can make children even more antsy being in an unstructured group of children. That is why children’s party games are an important part of any children’s event. Birthday parties, summer sleepovers, and even just classroom fun time are all great times to bring out a constructive children’s game for all of the kids to enjoy. Don’t let your child’s birthday party get out of control.
Keep the children occupied, and they will have a great time.
The following party games are great for any event that is chalk full of children. They will keep the kids interested in a common goal, and therefore they will keep parents from getting a headache. Food, fun, family, friends, and presents may do a good job of keeping the birthday child happy, but don’t forget about all of the other children. It can be difficult for some children to see others getting toys and having fun, so make sure that you take everyone into consideration. Make sure that there are no bored children, because bored children quickly turn into naughty children.
Pin the Teeth on the Dinosaur
Let’s face it, what kid would be interested by a silly old donkey? Not too many young kids even know what a donkey is, unless they have watched the Dreamworks movie Shrek. Dinosaurs fascinate more kids than not, and they have sharp, scary teeth. Kids will love your very own version of the party game classic, Pin the Tail on the Donkey.
Musical chairs
Kids are almost guaranteed to love any party game that involves dancing to some cool tunes. Musical chairs is one of the easiest party games to play. All you’ll need is some chairs, one less than the number of children playing, and some music. Play the music, and have the children dance around the line of chairs in a giant group circle. Then, when the music stops, the kids rush to find a chair and sit down in it. Whichever child is last to sit down is the rotten egg, and they sit out until a new game is started. Every round, take away one of the chairs, so that there is always one less chair than children. Keep going until only one child is left, and they are the winner.
Create a scavenger hunt
Creating your very own scavenger hunt it very easy to do. Create a list of household items, or sneakily describe an item to make it more difficult. Then, make a few copies of the list. Create small groups of kids, and have them try to find all of the items on the list together. Whichever group finds all of the items, or most of the items when time runs out, is the winner. Kids love scavenger hunts, because it brings out the inner detective that all children seem to have buried within themselves.
