Crafts can be a great experience for any kid. There are always cool things to do with arts and crafts, and kids love doing anything hands on. Crafts can be a cool way to help kids learn, and express themselves through creation. Arts and crafts can come in many different forms; painting, coloring, making bracelets, and much more. Here are a few cool ideas for you to incorporate into your kids’ next arts and craft project.
Anatomy of a leaf
Your kids can create their own science project right in their own back yard, and at the same time create a beautiful work of art. Have your kids pick up a few different kinds of leaves from outside, and then they can place them in between two pieces of white paper. Dandelion leaves and grass will also work in a pinch. Then, your kids can use crayons to gently color the top piece of paper that the leaves are under. All of the leaves veins will be slightly darker, so that kids can see exactly what the insides of the leaves look like. Have them try several different kinds of leaves with several different colors, and the results will be a beautiful collage of brightly colored leaves.
Fossil cookies
You can help your kids create their own piece of history. All you will need is a few small animal toys and some basic sugar cookie dough. Help your kids roll out the cookie dough, and cut into circular shapes with a small drinking glass. Then your kids can take the small animal toys (sanitized first) and gently press them into the circular cookie shape. Carefully remove the toy, and the imprint of the animal will be in the cookie. You can then bake the cookies, and your kids will be left with some of the tastiest fossils in history.
Popsicle stick snowflakes
Popsicle sticks can be used to create almost anything, but one of the easiest activities for kids to do with them is to create a snowflake. All your kids need is some popsicle sticks, school glue, and some colorful beads. Help your kids create two X’s with four popsicle sticks and the glue. Then, help them overlap the two X’s to make them even, and secure them with glue. All that’s left then is to let your kids glue a bunch of colorful beads to the popsicle sticks.
Cool kids love to do cool crafts. The possibilities are endless in the world of arts and crafts. Look for different objects that can help push your kids’ imagination to the next level, and then use them to create crafts. Almost anything can be used by your kids to create cool crafts, so let their imagination guide their journey.
